"Sledy na Snegu" ("Footprints in the Snow") is a live recording of Mira Drevo made on December 25th, 2015 in the St. Petersburg Sound Museum (former Experimental Sound Gallery, ESG-21) during one of the nights of the "Alchemy of Noise" party series. This time the project performed as a duo: the permanent leader Dmitriy "Skald" who uses synthesizers, a sampler and authentic field and ethnographic recordings along with acoustic instruments (flutes, mouth harp, percussion) was joined by Pavel from the post-rock / doom metal band Sequoian Aequison, and the mild sound of his guitar brought a special charm to the overall musical fabric... Mira Drevo stay true to their folk ambient sound, their music is a journey through snowy Russian villages and vast spaces which separate them by many miles... Beautiful melancholic melodies and wavy textures pierced by meditative motifs - this is the music of a long winter, the music of the North.

One of my favorite dungeon synth albums, and I had only heard it a few days ago for the first time.
Perfect for drifting off to sleep, but also for driving under the canopy of trees. It is very soft, and pleasant, yet vast at times. The ambient forest sounds are extremely soothing. A wonderful work of art that feels as refreshing as diving into the deeps of a natural, cold spring in the eves of summer. Bjorn

An amazing, exhilarating ride from start to finish, blistering through with a complete audio barrage without becoming tiring and with plenty enough variety and depth to make repeat listens just as enjoyable as the first.

On the final track I was finishing the part in Call of Cthulhu where Johansen’s strange and horrific journey to R’lyeh is being recalled. It’s described as an ancient cyclopean city of non Euclidean geometry that no human could build. Angles and perspectives are constantly shifting. I think it fits perfectly with the final track that mentions the Fata Morgana. Dionysus Virus
